Here at Ridgway Dental our hygienists are all extremely skilled and work with our dentists and specialist periodontist to help protect your teeth from gum disease and remove any staining from your teeth.

We have a variety of methods of cleaning your teeth which range from:

  • Ultrasonic stain removal
  • Followed by refinement with hand-held instruments
  • State of the art EMS Air flow machine
  • Guided biofilm therapy

Not only can we remove plaque and calculus, but our EMS airflow machine allows us to use the evidenced based guided biofilm therapy to maximise stain removal and your oral health.

Our Hygienists

Our hygienists role is to prevent gum disease by cleaning your teeth and providing advice on how best to clean your teeth and what brushes and interdental aids to use. At Ridgway Dental we are pleased to offer hygiene appointments with our highly trained therapists, Pippa Dredge, Lauren De Mello, Gamze Bellikli and Melody Schwartz.

Is it worth going to a dental hygienist?

A hygienist will remove plaque and calculus that you are unable to remove which will help resolve and also prevent gum disease and can help prevent tooth decay.

How often should you go to the hygienist?

Everyone’s oral health and oral health needs are different. We normally recommend intervals of between 3 and 12 months.

How much does it cost to get your teeth cleaned by a dental hygienist?

Normally a dentist will assess with our hygienist how many sessions you will need depending on the level of staining and periodontal disease. Our prices are found here.
