Orthodontic treatment is used to improve the appearance, position and function of crooked or abnormally aligned teeth. Wimbledon’s Ridgway Dental provides extensive orthodontic diagnosis and treatment options.
Along with the more common fixed appliances Ridgway Dental provides Invisalign clear aligners, Incoginto lingual braces (that are hidden behind your teeth) and tooth-coloured or clear fixed braces.
Specialist Orthodontists
At Ridgway Dental Wimbledon we are lucky to have two Specialist Orthodontists on our team: Dr Annika Patel and Dr Lida Gamble. General dentists are able to discuss straightforward orthodontic treatments, however a specialist orthodontist has undergone specialist postgraduate training for three years in the field of orthodontics. This qualification means they can deal with all manner of complex and challenging orthodontic cases, using a wide variety of treatments. Also they have the ability to correct a patient’s jaws to ensure they are in alignment with the facial profile.
Orthodontic appointments can be arranged after school or work and on Saturdays.

Invisalign Clear Aligners
Invisalign uses custom-built aligners. Unlike fixed braces, the aligners can be removed when eating, tooth brushing or for special occasions. We are proud to be a Diamond Invisalign Provider meaning that we are in the top few percentage of practices providing Invisalign in the world.
Read MoreConventional fixed braces
Fixed metal braces have become a standard in orthodontics due to their efficacy. They are the least expensive option and great for both minor as well as complex teeth straightening. Though highly visible they are tried and tested.

Though fixed to the teeth like conventional braces, these braces use tooth-coloured ceramic and wiring instead of silver metal. This makes them much less noticeable, whilst maintaining a similar level of effectiveness.

With lingual teeth-straightening braces, brackets and wiring hide behind the teeth. This makes them virtually invisible. As they are discreet, this type of braces are preferred by those who do not like the look of wearing braces.
