Teeth Whitening

All teeth whitening options attempt to improve the colour of teeth, removing stains and restoring them to lighter brighter hues. Many alternative teeth whitening DIY options have sprung up, however these are not recommended as they often don’t work or are not safe, so we always suggest seeing a dentist for whitening treatment. Through effective teeth whitening, you will be able to restore and even heighten your confidence, which results in glowing smiles.

Teeth Whitening in Wimbledon

Discolouration of your teeth is hard to avoid. However, your lifestyle largely determines how fast and how much discolouration your teeth suffer. Drinking coffee, tea and red wine are common ways to stain the teeth. Smoking and chewing tobacco are also strong causes of teeth discolouration. In addition, teeth can become darker as we age.

Tooth whitening is an affordable and effective way to combat common causes of tooth discolouration, while boosting your self-confidence and improving your appearance. Research suggests that smiling more leads to an improvement in your mood. Teeth whitening is the least invasive way to improve the appearance of teeth.

Teeth Whitening Options

Teeth Whitening at Home

Teeth whitening can be done at home and involve kits using low-potency creams and bleaching agents. When used properly, they are very safe.

  1. We take impressions of your teeth to make bespoke tooth whitening trays.
  2. At a second appointment we fit the trays, decide on the shade you’d like to achieve, and give you the whitening gel with specific instructions on how to whiten your teeth at home.
  3. You use the trays with the whitening gel for approximately 2-3 weeks.

Teeth Whitening in the Practice

Dentists closely monitor all the teeth whitening done in our Wimbledon Clinic. This is why we are able to use stronger chemicals for the bleaching process when it is carried out in the practice rather than at home. Additional technology such as UV lights trigger a reaction in agents we apply to the teeth, making the whitening process more effective. The dental whitening options we offer can be customised according to the patient’s needs.
